Update 8:17 ET
The City of Toronto has announced that the
evacuation undertaken today after the Murray Road explosion and fire has
ended.
Residents not at the evacuation centre will be directed by police on the
re-entry into the area. Over the next few hours residents can begin returning
home. It is critical that residents follow the directions of police to ensure
the safety and security of everyone involved................
Update:
First responders did an excellent Job!!
(just another reason why it's important to have simulation exercises)
Unfortunately one firefighter has been taken to hospital ,vital signs absent.
About 18 minor injuries (could have been a lot worse considering the residential area close to the site of the explosion) . Lots of windows blown out.
