We have won Zimbabwe. We have won................This is Zimbabwe

"Truth 1

For the first time in many many years, it is us, the forces of democracy and freedom and of peace and justice, who have established the rules of the game. As a nation, with one clear voice, we voted for change. Those scores were placed on the doors for all of us to see with our own eyes. We know the results because we saw them.

Truth 2

For the first time in their 28 years of history, Zanu PF is obviously and publically on the backfoot. They are struggling to find a way to change the incontrovertible reality that they are finished. We are watching them respond to the simple truth that the people said ‘no more’. What we are witnessing now are the reactions of a dying regime dancing to tune we started to sing on March 29th.".................

Try concentrating on the criminals instead of blaming everything else........

in 'n out

City owned public housing needs about $300 million in repairs and about 20% of the murders have taken place on publicly owned property.....but blame everything else- it's easier than taking responsibility.

Global Warming..........AmThinker

"Once again, on the issue of “global warming” we’re faced with government control -- in this case not of the national park system, but of the entire globe. The “progressives” and their “grand thoughts” of the age seek to “manage” the globe in the same “modern” way our ancestors “managed” Yellowstone. Like our ancestors of yore, today’s environmentalists believe the government can control the environment better than Mother Nature can. Are we to suppose that the people who give us the DMV and the IRS are going to “manage” the globe in the same efficient and benevolent manner?"

A Mountie's response....

The RCMP were once the premier crime fighting organization in the world.During the Liberal tenure they were underfunded and understaffed.Whistleblowers were treated disrespectfully and some senior management seemed more concerned about their personal careers than the organization.Leadership was an issue. The negative situations developed over time-The Liberals were in government during the severe cutbacks. They were well aware of the impending retirements of a significant portion of experienced officers and could have made better plans to alleviate the coming stresses on the organization.

There are good and bad apples in many large organizations- good leadership promotes those with merit and gets rid of the bad apples to prevent them from spoiling the rest of the barrel.Unfortunately in recent years , some of the good apples ,-competent honest, experienced officers- were treated poorly.Let's hope those days are over. You can't turn around a large ship on a dime, so yes it will take time to make the improvements. just imagine how much farther ahead they would be if the changes occurred in 1995 instead of 2005.

As for terrorists, they don't walk around with neon signs claiming they are terrorists. Those on the front lines have only a short time in which to make the right decisions.....

Anybody can be an armchair critic but when the rubber meets the road.......

Yes they were recruiting- they have to make up for thousands of experienced officers leaving and handing these out was just one way of getting publicity- after all in a 500 hundred channel universe...and internet...even large companies have problems finding an audience.

Lord Lawson.........".A foolish overreaction to climate change"........Financial Times

"Over the past five years I have become increasingly concerned at the scaremongering of the climate alarmists, which has led the governments of Europe to commit themselves to a drastic reduction in carbon emissions, regardless of the economic cost of doing so. The subject is such a complex one, involving science, economics and politics in almost equal measure, that to do it justice I have written a book, albeit a short one, thoroughly referenced and sourced. But the bare bones are clear.

First, given the so-called greenhouse effect, the marked and largely man-made increase in carbon dioxide concentrations in the earth’s atmosphere has no doubt contributed to the modest 20th century warming of the planet. But what remains a matter of unresolved dispute among climate scientists is how great a contribution it has made, compared with the natural factors affecting the earth’s climate."

"This time Gen. Petraeus returns to Washington having led one of the most remarkably successful military operations in American history. His antiwar critics, meanwhile, face a crisis of credibility – having confidently predicted the failure of the surge, and been proven decidedly wrong."
