The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing -- Edmund Burke

"Still, the question has to be asked. How did terror become an acceptable form of political expression among second and even third generations of Canadians?
We believe the answer is simple: Canada has come to lack a defined sense of purpose and a defined direction. That once great nation has abandoned it's principles in favor of multicultural political correctness.
Great nations are defined by their sense of purpose. America is about freedom. This great experiment in democracy has served as a blueprint for nations in search of the same. The influence America has had on democracy is evident in all the free nations of the world. Americans may be critical at times of their governments, but they all cherish their freedom. While it is true that there are those who believe that freedom- and the vote- should only be available to those who agree with them, thankfully, they are only a fringe minority. There are still others who believe we should abandon democratic allies and instead, support terrorist and avowed racist regimes. They are an even smaller, fringe minority.
Great nations are also defined by what they stand for. Great nations will not allow political correctness or ideologies that have been watered down, to mar the principles on which they stand.
No great nation has ever sustained itself by highlighting the ideologies or nations they hate. Only small, pitiful and failure-states do that.
That is a truth Canadians must face."

Perhaps the Toronto City officials along with the Board of Trade or other organization can make lemonade from the lemons by showing the International
media some Toronto hospitality while they are waiting for the next bail hearings-barbecues, boat tours etc.
At the Bramton Court house yesterday, it was a bit of a circus unfortunately.Perhaps for the next hearings they will be able to handle crowd control
there are video clips on the right side
Canada has top professional security agencies which will more than likely have their staffing and funding levels increased in the near future.
Before some of the U.S. politicians and media go over the top with some comments and headlines about Canadian security, perhaps they should look in the mirror and take a closer look at what is happening (or not happening) on their side of the border .
In this recent case in which alleged terrorists were arrested, Canadian security agencies did a superb job. The suspects were rounded up before anything drastic happened.Instead of attempting criticism, more cooperation is required and the language needs to be toned down. There is a new government in Canada and they take security seriously. This is not the previous Liberal government where there was much talk and little action, so things have changed. The idea is to focus on catching terrorists, not political infighting.
Testimony before Congress
On May 4th, 2005, we met in Laredo, Texas. As a result we formed the Texas
Border Sheriff’s Coalition. The first and foremost priority of our coalition is protecting
all residents of this country against a terrorist act without regard to race, sex, or ethnic
origin. We continue to believe that many persons have entered our country with
intentions of harming us. We continue to believe that terrorists have expressed an
interest and a desire to exploit the existing vulnerabilities in our border security to enter
or attack the United States. We are sincere when we tell you that we are not blaming the
agents of the United States Border Patrol, ICE, or any other federal agency, but, rather,
we criticize the policies that they have to adhere to.....
I have been asked to briefly relate to you some of the problems that we have
encountered along the border, specifically the violence along the border and how we are
confronting it, in particular, how we are outgunned and outmanned. Most of the sheriffs
that have encountered these problems that I will present are present to answer any
questions you may have as they relate to their counties. The sixteen sheriffs, whose
counties border the Republic of Mexico employ under 700 patrol officers, are responsible
for 39,764 square miles, and 1,276 miles of wide open, porous, and unprotected border
We recently received information that the cartels immediately across our border
are planning on killing as many police officers as possible on the United States side. This
is being planned for the purpose of attempting to “scare us” away from the border. They
have the money, equipment, and stamina to do it. They are determined to save their
“load”. It is very possible, these cartels may form a nexus with members of Al Qaeda
and other terrorist organizations. The Department of Homeland Security recently issued
Officer Alerts warning their agents of the potential threats. We, the local officers,
learned about it through the news media....
Local, state, and federal officers have found many items along the banks of the
Rio Grande River that indicate possible ties to terrorist organizations or members of
military units of Mexico. Currency and clothing are common finds. Recently, a jacket
with patches was found in Jim Hogg County, Texas, by agents of U. S. Border Patrol.
The patches on the jacket show an Arabic military badge with one depicting an airplane
flying over a building and heading towards a tower, and another showing an image of a
lion’s head with wings and a parachute emanating from the animal (lion). It is believed
from an undisclosed document that Department of Homeland Security translators
concluded that the patches read “defense center”, “minister of defense”, or “defense
headquarters”. The bottom of one patch read “martyr”, “way to eternal life” or “way to
immortality”. I have attached copies of these patches and have marked them as
