The idea of an immigration Dept is to weed out those who would do us harm ,not treating crooks , terrorists the same as hard working decent immigrants

By downsizing our security agencies and military over the past 10 years,

the government has left Canadians pretty well defenceless.We can always throw reports
at terrorists since we have those in abundance or perhaps sit them down for consultations or shoot some hot air in their direction.

The gun registry is working like a charm......

They seem to be jumping on Councillor Michael Thompson......

yet those jumping on him now have avoided the crucial issues in the past.The crooks have no fear-stone killers- who shoot people any time of the day, in any part of the city.There are over 8000 gang members in the GTA.How did they reach that level with nobody noticing or doing anything? Rehashing the announcement of 1000 new officers 3 or 4 times for PR value means nothing, since they are not on the streets yet and novices need supervision until they get enough experience.The money from the gun registry ( which hasn't preevnted any of the shootings) could have gone into manpower.Sentencing has been a revolving door.When a cop killer ,who was sentenced to life, gets out after 12 years, what truth is there in sentencing?Where are the stats from the media following gun cases and the sentences that have been handed out ,in say, the past 5 years?The lawyers dress their clients up to look like angels when they go to court ,give a sob story and are back on the streets in short order, usually laughing as they leave the court house.

Instead of using Michael Thompson as a lightening rod, some people should be looking into a mirror because they sat on their hands while gang activity was escalating,it took years, not overnight.If anybody bothered to notice, there has been more graffiti put on property after the recent murders.They don't care about society's rules.Instead of going after Thompson,they should be going after the criminals.We don't really care if they had bad toilet training in the past,they are stone killers who think nothing of using weapons anywhere , anytime, period.Why have the Toronto MP's been so silent?-hoping nobody would notice that the gun registry was designed to keep target shooters, farmers and duck hunters in line, but was totally useless against criminals.

Maybe they should live with parole board members before full release.

Who's supposed to be protected- Society or criminals?
