"Shapiro said he did not know about the firm's Liberal connections at the time they were hired, adding: "I was more naive at the time than I should have been.""

Delaying a vote for a time when sick Conservatives have to get their medical treatment?

Perhaps it's time to end the phony war and get on with the election.

Are polls to reflect accurate opinion or manipulate opinion?

"A Strategic Counsel poll for the Globe and Mail newspaper on Wednesday showed the Conservatives had 31 percent support, compared with 27 percent for the Liberals.

But a Decima poll for CanWest newspapers put the Liberals at 37 percent and the Conservatives at 28 percent."

It would appear that since the discrepancies are too wide amongst polls, they should be comparing apples and apples. In order to have more accurate polls , the samples should be larger and the margin of error less than the 3.1%, 19 times out of 20.If they are not more accurate , then they slide into the realm of guesswork and Canadians need accuracy not guesswork.Otherwise anybody can make up their own figures .

Salim Mansur gets to the heart of the matter

"Canadians are being advised, however, by interested and disinterested parties, to wait until the full details of the Gomery commission are available before passing judgment on a minority Liberal government they elected a year ago.

But the putrid smell of corruption and sleaze emanating from Ottawa has become so foul the political health of the country demands Parliament be immediately fumigated less the rottenness of those who were architects of this scandal, and those who sat as silent accomplices, seep into our collective thinking, rendering us ethically incapacitated -- as are so many of our elected representatives in the nation's capital."

Election 101

Nothing could be further from the truth. The end, when it comes, will do so because the Liberals had grown so comfortable in office that they felt they could do exactly as they pleased. If that involved channelling millions of dollars to their friends, then so be it.

Canadians should bear in mind the Liberals have had well over a decade to accomplish the kinds of programs they are now trying to cram on to the agenda, but they only felt moved to action when there was a chance they could be booted out of office. Let's not fall for that. Again.

Motion to defeat government passes 153-150, but Liberals refuse to resign

"This is a corrupt party which is in the process of ruining the country's finances and which is now ignoring the democratically expressed will of the House of Commons. This government does not have the moral authority to govern this country," Mr. Harper said outside the House.

"This doesn't mean there isn't going to be another opportunity," Mr. Martin responded. "There will be a budget vote and there will be opposition days before the end of the month."

Translation- They'll be on the campaign trail by the end of next week

DAVID WARREN WEIGHS IN ON THE VOTE LAST NIGHT

"The Liberals' strategy to remain in power is now as clear as it is unstated. The government is trying to exploit the low expectations Canadians now have of our politicians. On the assumption that Canadians themselves have low moral standards, the Liberals will continue making open bribery their central pitch. And on the assumption that we are not very intelligent, they will continue to offer it in the form of spending programs that were promised as far back as 1993."

Exercise " slows prostate cancer"

Regular vigorous physical activity could slow the progression of prostate cancer in older men, a study has found.

The findings suggest working up a real sweat may help prevent men over 65 dying from the disease.

But the team from Harvard School of Public Health found men had to work out vigorously for at least three hours a week for it to have a positive effect.
