Henceforth to be known as the CYA Security Plan.......
If BS could protect Canadians, we'd be the best protected nation on earth. If security reviews and plans and studies were ammo, we'd never run out. It's been 4 years since 9/11 and they're "thinking" about talking to some people now regarding security?? Why did they wait four years since 9/11? Not enough money available?-there was plenty available for Adscam and the gun registry apparently.
As for the $9 billion dollars they claim they have already put into security, some enterprising journalist, if there are any left, should find the line items for that $9 billion- they "promised" to put $8 billion into security "over 5 years" and the five years aren't up yet so there's no way they have put $9 or is it $10 billion into security-they toss around billions like frisbees. Similar to the $13 billion they are "supposed " to put in the military but they won't see the bulk of that for four more years. It's all a shell game with figures being bandied about with no meaning, just for PR and the media gobble up the figures without checking the whole story.
When they have already hired 3500 people for the security agencies above the attrition levels, then they will finally be doing something. Until then its sheer PR for perception purposes. The Auditor- General and Sen. Kenny's Committee have told them what needs to be done and they still play games with the safety of Canadians. How many of those 350 terrorists for example that CSIS identified in 1998 are still in the country? Security comprises more than hollow promises. We've heard plenty of hot air over the years, the time for action has long past.Four years after 9/11 has been more than enough time to put all the security and emergency preparations in place but now they are going to talk and consult some more? It seems like they are more concerned with making statements that sound good to make up for the bungled job they have done in four years on the security portfolio- all sizzle , no steak.Canadians anxiously await the next installment of the CYA Security Plan.Meanwhile AQ has their own schedule.

Inspired title!
Jihadist bombings and the daily blasting in Iraq are urgent news and correctly take up most of the space in our media.
Recently we saw a big headline about a thousand spies operating in Canada. That seems very important to me and all Canadians.
Why is there no follow-up?
The Hans Island embarrasment is a total farce, only matched by the Michael Jackson waste of media space and time.
China knows we are distracted with Jihadist concearns.
We want to know more about mega-mergers and industrial building block buy-outs that China is completing in Canada.
Always the risk that racist accusers are ready to pounce here. Forget it. The Chinese people are excellent steady-going and mostly very honest.
It's the over-ambitious A-type personalities at the top who run things, that give me pause. 73s TG
And it took LaPierre 30 minutes to announce, too! Excellent post.
