"The time for excuses for terrorism is over,"

It is interesting that during Clinton's 8 years in the White House he studiously ignored the warnings and pointedly refused to take bin Laden in custody.
As the left would have it , in the US, Canada and Britain this would have been and is the proper response to a threat either carried out or not: Just ignore them. IF they hit us, well, we can prosecute and that can take years and millions of dollars to perhaps put them behind bars.
When we think of the millions of lives lost in WWll ( 55 million worldwide) we have to remember what were the causes that brought us to such a sorry morass : arguments against nipping aggression in any form in the bud were strenously thwarted.
Attempts to hamper efforts to take measures to see to it that war did not come or that when it did to end it quickly were swift and effective, especially in the US.
Collaborators in France ( The Vichy ) and other head in the sand types ensured we would have to take a full measure to end the conflict.
That sacrifice should have taught us something. It appears that it has not.
Ever the god of many, money always counts. Oil for Food shows us that the entire world could care less about people in Iraq suffering, as long as they were making money from Saddam.
Nothing much has changed. And that is why we see such excuses for terrorism.
These are luxuries we cannot afford in this world.
Islamic extremists intend to change the world and either we comply or our existence they intend to end.
There is only one way to fight that. George Bush is doing just that and the rest of the world better get onside or we will wish we had.
